I think the world has gone crazy. And it seems like it’s from the constant manipulation ‘noise’ that is infecting everything. So, I wanted to write something to remind everyone that we’re all the same everywhere. Just that simple. My way of saying . . . open your mind!

The Arrangement
I think I say the same thing on every song. This one literally started out again as a country song. So, after writing and playing it for a while in demo form, I sent the song over to Shaw Hayes. We’ve been working together for a very long time, and his ears are way better than mine.
Anyway, after listening he basically said the only thing he liked were the harmonies and a few other parts, like the bass. And I agreed. He had an arrangement ideas he wanted to bounce of me and when I heard the changes, I thought what? Hmmm . . . it was about 180 degrees away from the demo. But the vibe was perfect for the message. So, we worked it a bunch and brought in Rick Curran and his amazing strings work.
Now I’m sure most writers are never 100% happy with any song, but I can say I’m almost there on this one. I hope the message resonates with you.
